What “ISO” means
ISO stands for In Search Of. On resale sites, in collector forums, and across Facebook Marketplace groups, people write “ISO” in front of an item to say they are trying to buy it rather than sell it — an ISO post is a wanted ad. It is the opposite of a normal listing: the buyer names the piece and the price, and whoever owns one responds.
How a reverse marketplace works
- 1. Post your search.Name the exact piece — brand, size, colourway, condition — and the budget you will pay for it.
- 2. Sellers bring it to you. People who already own the item send offers against your search, so you are not hunting listings that may not exist.
- 3. Agree and close. Compare offers, negotiate in one thread, then accept the one you want and arrange shipping.
